K3 tennis balls will be bouncing around on college campuses.
The USTA
Southern Section has selected the K3 championship tennis ball as the
official tennis ball for Tennis On Campus, which is the collegiate team tennis
league offered to all colleges across the United States. Tennis On Campus is operated and governed by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
The Southern Section of the USTA has chosen the K3 tennis ball to be the official tennis ball because of its high quality and low cost.
"We have a high regard for the challenges many coaches and club professionals experience maintaining quality balls for their players," K3 owner Yatin Shelar said. "They’ll go to discount centers under a tight budget and spend more each season in frequency to maintain quality balls in their ball hoppers. We have produced a premium ball that is lively and resilient at a very reasonable price."
Shelar, a former teaching professional and now father of three tennis players, designed K3 balls to meet three criteria: a top-performance tournament ball; a ball that will outlast standard balls in repeated use; a ball affordable in large and small volumes.
K3 is used in hundreds of USTA sanctioned tournaments.
